product description
1.Common types of stainless steel plates for Pets:
According to the fracture site and functional requirements, they are mainly divided into five categories: straight compression plate (DCP); T/L plate; reconstruction plate; locking plate (LCP); special anatomical plate.
Below we introduce the characteristics of these five types of plates:
1). Straight compression plate (DCP):
suitable for long bone shafts, tibia, femur, and humerus. The elliptical screw holes of this type of plate allow axial compression and are compatible with locking and ordinary screws.
2). T/L plate:
suitable for articular end fractures, with a wide articular end design to match the anatomical morphology of the epiphyseal end
3). Reconstruction plate:
suitable for irregular bones, such as the pelvis and mandible. It has high tolerance and can be three-dimensionally shaped during surgery.
4). Locking plate (LCP):
suitable for osteoporosis and comminuted fractures. The screws of this type of plate are locked into a whole with the plate, which can reduce periosteal compression.
5). Special anatomical plates:
Suitable for specific parts, such as the distal radius and proximal femur. The pre-bent design of this type of steel plate fits the physiological curvature of the bone.
2.The core functions of pet stainless steel plates:
1)Provide mechanical stability:
Spanning the fracture area to form a rigid support to resist bending/torsion/shear force
Achieve compression of the fracture end (DCP plate) and promote callus formation.
2)Able to provide biological protection:
The LCP plate adopts bridging fixation to protect the blood supply of the fracture area (minimally invasive principle)
Reduce soft tissue irritation and reduce the risk of infection.
3)Good functional recovery:
Allowing early partial weight bearing of the affected limb (such as locking plate) to provide precise force line reconstruction for the joint (key value of anatomical plate).
3.Reasons why stainless steel plates are preferred in surgical scenarios:
1)High cost-effectiveness: Stainless steel plates provide 120% mechanical strength at 60% of the cost of titanium alloys, meeting 90% of the needs of conventional fractures, and are especially suitable for animal hospitals with limited budgets.
2)Advantages of emergency renovation: If postoperative infection requires removal, stainless steel has stronger corrosion resistance than titanium alloys (avoiding metal debris residue)
3) Repeated sterilization: Withstands more than 200 high-temperature and high-pressure sterilizations, reducing clinic operating costs
